If I can't install my own apps, I wouldn't buy it. Period. End of story. Typical Jobs--he may be a genius. But he's also an egomaniac. He thinks he knows what you need better than you do. Like the original Mac with a completely closed hardware system. Like his endless devotion to the one button mouse. And now a $500 close architecture phone. He can keep it.
