Apple Reveals Top Trends, Most Popular Apps of 2010
Apple's 2010 Rewind is revealing some of the best-selling, most popular and downloaded iPhone and iPad apps from its iTunes App Store this year. Not surprisingly, many familiar names are turning up.
Apple named Hipstamatic - which enables iPhone users to alter the look of iPhone pics via "aged" tones and shades - as the iPhone app of the year. Flipboard was honored as the iPad app of the year, and Osmos for iPad was similarly christened the iPad game of the year.
According to Apple's look back at the most downloaded paid apps for the iPhone this year, Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, and Skee-Ball made the list. The highest grossing iPhone app was MLB.com's At Bat 2010. At $14.99 during the season, it's not difficult to understand how this popular app generated so much coin. Angry

Apple Approves iPhone 4 LED Flashlight Apps
Immediately after the iPhone 4 was released, Michael D'Ulisse of MoreBluSky
came up with the idea to make an app that used the iPhone 4's camera flash as a Flashlight. Apparently, he wasn't alone as a number of other Flashlight apps were apparently also submitted to the App Store. As the developer community digs deeper into iOS 6 beta, more telling revelations are coming to the surface, the latest of which reflects the finding discussed above. When iOS 6 rolls out, users won't ever have to enter their Apple ID password before downloading a free app again.
While there is a chance that this option won't make it out of beta, the devs I have spoken with believe that this discovery will stay put when the refreshed operating system rolls out this fall in conjunction with the new, 6th-

In 2 months, 3 almost identical 'lock my screen' scam apps has reached the top 25, and the current one is 3rd! Who is gullible enough to keep buying these apps? I swear, if another one makes it i may lose my faith in humanity
