  • iPhone 3g unable to restore or enter DFU mode

Hi everyone, I have a jailbroken iPhone 3g and tried to put Ios 6 on it as most apps require something more than 4.3.1, but was a complete idiot and used the "normal" version instead of "jailbroken" version from whited00r. When I restored my iphone as per the instructions, my phone went back to the non-broken/unlocked state, and all I can access is the "emergency call" screen. In itunes, it just says that the sim card is not supported and won't give the the option to restore the iphone. I figured okay now I guess I just have to unlock it/jailbreak it myself, but I've tried with redsn0w and the phone wont go into the DFU mode (I've watched videos, read instructions, it just doesnt seem to work). I also tried using blackrain, which puts it into recovery mode so at least I can see the "restore iPhone" option in iTunes. So from there I try my different restore options: I've tried just doing a normal restore, no luck. I'v

[FIXED] iPhone 3GS stuck in pwned DFU - Restore error 1600

So today i decided to upgrade my iPhone 3gs from 5.0.1 to 6.1.2. I tried to first restore my iPhone to 5.0.1 and then received the error 3194, meaning that it could not connect to apple. Then after a while i figured it out, but got an error 1600. I then removed the BB from the ispw in order not to upgrade my Baseband, and when tried again, my phone got stuck in the Pwned DFU mode. It wont get out of it for anything. Tried Tinyumbrela fix, redsn0w fix and ireb fix. None of them worked. It seems to be forever in DFU. If I try now to restore to 5.0.1 No BB, i get the error 1600 again. If I try to restore to 5.0.1 stock, i get 3194. Does anyone know what I can do? I dont want to lose my phone nor my baseband =P Is my iPhone gone? Details: iPhone 3gs new-boot (no SHSH) iOS 5.0.1 baseband 05.16.02 EDIT: Read the reply below!

Jailbroken iPhone 3G, Unable to restore via iTunes (HELP!)

Hi everyone, For the past 3hrs I've been trying to fix my iPhone and I'm having no luck. I have an iPhone 3G 16GB and was jailbroken with 3.1.2 Firmware. Today, I was going into the AppStore on my phone and wanted to download a Free app called "Fox News". I tried downloading it from the AppStore, It accepted my password for iTunes account and started to download... The next minute, I notice my iPhone restarted by itself. I thought maybe it's b/c something needed to close and it did but then I notice it started rebooting in a loop and would not stop. I had to manual shut down the iPhone and then restart it. Then I received the funny looking Steve Jobs cartoon with NPEBEA! (word bubble) message. So far I tried the following: Try going into DFU mode and try restoring.. No go and I received this message in iTunes when I tried to restore..."The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (9)."

    Iphone 3G "23 error" & "1600 Error" & other

Hi, Depending on how I compile my custom firmware, I get these 2 messages. Error 23 & 1600. My issue.. It boots to the Apple logo and then turns off. It will not turn on just using the power button, it needs for the USB to be plugged in for power. secondly, Once it gets plugged in, it shows the apple logo, then turns off. I am able to get it to go into restore mode, and DFU mode. Also, Most of the firmware I tried does not show anything on the screen. The only firmware that turn the screen white is iPhone1,2_3.1_7C144_Restore.ipsw I am not sure what could be done at this point, but if someone could guide me to successfully fix this, I will send them a paypal payment. Thanks

iPhone 3G bricked. Shows error 9/1600/20. Need help desperately!

I'm stuck in a very peculiar problem with my iPhone 3G and any help would be very appreciated. My iPhone 3G was jailbroken and it was running smoothly until one morning I plugged it to my car stereo through USB (which I do everyday) and it did something funny. It restarted and got stuck in the recovery mode. I tried to do a full restore in iTunes but it returns me an Error 9. After a little research on apple and other website I came to know it could be something regarding the USB connection. I tried changing the USB cable, USB port, computers - both mac and pc. Nothing helps. I even tried to connect it through a USB hub as it was suggested by some forums. Didn't do anything. Yesterday, however, I tried to jailbreak it again with redsn0w. It did everything and the process was successful, but when the system reboots, it goes back to the recovery mode. I did it couple of times, and for the last few times i tried changing the boot logo just to see if it is indeed doing anything. Frustatingl

Backup iPhone 3G and restore to 3Gs?

Hi, I plan to backup my current 2.2.1 iPhone 3G, reset it, pass it down to another person. Then get the 3Gs. Will it be easy to do this? I don't mind reloading the media (music, videos), but would it be easy to restore the apps? I have about 50 so far and can't weed through them again. The contacts, settings, datebook, pictures, etc is what's important.
