  • Unable to parse IPSW

I tried to upgrade my iPhone 3GS from iOS 5.1.1 to 6.1.2 via this tutorial: http://www.iclarified.com/25144/how-...seband-windows But when I select iOS 6.1.2 as IPSW, it gives an error "Unable to parse IPSW. Are you sure it's really an IPSW?"

[HELP]redsn0w "Unable to recognize specified IPSW."

Hi, I just restored(not update) my 1st gen 4gig iPhone to 3.1.3(.ipsw downloaded through iTunes). When I browse to the 3.1.3 FW (c: \Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Update\iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw) redsn0w 0.9.4 doesn't recognize the file. its the official .ipsw from apple.. I've tried other .ipsw's downloaded from other places(modmyi being one of them) and it doesn't recognize any of them. I can use "Spirit" to jailbreak but I need to use redsn0w so I can use "openiboot". Thanks in advanced. -------------------------- Never mind haha I figured it out. I just had to use the 3.1.2 FW even though my phone is running 3.1.3. haha... weird o.O oh well..

    Unable to recognize specified IPSW

Hi. I am starting this new thread because I need help PDQ as I need my phone working in a couple of hours.... I got advice from another thread about jb and unlock - I have a 2g. I followed the instructions, backed up, restored holding option and selected iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw, it successfully restored. I now have run redsn0w and it gives me the 'unable to recognize' message? After restoring, iTunes quit as it needed the sim code. I have entered the sim code and tried again, but get the same message... Any ideas anyone..... Thanks

Unable to join the network - Wi-Fi

Hi, I am dealing with a very odd problem - my wife's iPhone (locked iPhone 3G to AT&T with 3.0 & 3.0.1 firmware) does not connect to ANY wireless network. Mine (another iPhone 3G, but unrestricted one) connects with no problems whatsoever. In order to limit variables, I did verify and confirmed the following: 1. Wi-Fi password is correctly entered (my own iPhone works fine with the same one) 2. Wi-Fi signal is just fine (3 m away from the router) 3. No MAC address filtering 4. Fails both on WEP and WPA encrypted networks (the other iPhone works fine on both) 5. Behaves the same way on different networks and router types - Dlink, LinkSys, 3Com. It actually see the Wi-Fi network but when I enter the password returns "Unable to join the network" as if the password was wrong or the router doesn't allow connection. What I tried (with little or no use): 1. Reset Network Setting
