using 3GS as bluetooth Access Point...MyWi5 disconnects phone from WiFi.
Hard to describe, but I want to use the WiFi on the iPhone 3GS for data, and tether with bluetooth using MyWi.
I have a wifi connection, and browser works.
I start MyWi and enable bluetooth tether (called different things on the menu, depending on if you are on the bluetooth menu or the main screen)
I connect with bluetooth device.
At this point, my iPhone is no longer able to access the internet...the tethered device cannot either.
If I turn the wifi off then on again, the phone can now use the internet, but the tethered device still can't.
This happens every single time.
Where is the setting to allow the user to choose where the data comes from, or is this app unable to share the Wifi. I haven't tried the USB tether, but I don't need that.
I can't tell if the MyWi app is trying to use the remote bluetooth device as the source of internet data, or if it is disregarding the wifi connection and attem

WiFi Issue on Iphone 3G
I apologize if this is being posted on the wrong thread, I was uncertain which thread to post this on.
All of a sudden from last night, I'am unable to connect any wireless router. Everytime I click to join a unsecured network or my personal router at home, i get the following message "unable to join network". The issue suddenly started to happen from last night, never had this issue before. I have an unlocked and jailbroken iphone 3G. I have tried to reset the network settings but that as not helped my case. Even tried to restart the phone but still nothing. Can anybody recommend their thoughts and ideas on how to solve this? Thank you

wifi/internet issue iPhone 4s
hey all, i've been having an issue over the last few days with my iphone 4s dropping internet connection over wifi several times a day... the phone's wifi itself seems to be at least partially working when the internet drops out, as i'm still able to use it as a XBMC remote for my mac mini... the quick work around is to go into settings on the phone and toggle the slider for WiFi off and on again... i can use the internet again and all is well...
this problem also seems to have manifested once today for my partner's iphone 4s.... i went as far as to do a restore on my iphone since i don't use it for much these days other than downcast and xbmc remote heh, but alas the symptom remains...
what confounds things more though is we updated from ios 6.0.2 to 6.1.1 roughly around the same time as upgrading firmware on our AEBS Base Station to 7.6.3 along with the new Airport utility 6.2... none of our other wireless apparatus exhibits any symptoms though (two late '11

3G iPad vs wifi tethered off iPhone 4s?
My husband has an AT&T iPhone 4s. I bought him a refurbished iPad 2 with Verizon 3G for Christmas. He hasn't opened it yet because he's trying to decide if it's the best choice. Here are the options we are considering:
1. Keep the iPad and sign up with Verizon for data plan. If we did this, he would have access to AT&T on his phone if there was no Verizon signal.
2. Trade in the iPad for a refurbed iPad 3, wifi only. Switch AT&T phone plans to a shared plan, opening up the possibility of tethering the iPad to his 4s. He is a photographer, so the retina display option is appealing, and we can get this iPad for slightly less than I paid for the current one.
3. Trade in the iPad for a 3G AT&T model.
The real question I have is -- are tethering speeds off an iPhone 4s the same as, faster, or slower, than and iPad with 3G? Also, while I'm thinking about it, is there any discernible speed difference between Veriz

Creating ad hoc wifi hotspot on iPhone?
Many of us will have heard of the MyWi iPhone tethering app which is widely used on jailbroken phones. It seems to work well to allow sharing of the iPhone's 3G connection via WiFi with some limitations such as poor battery life etc.
As an iPad WiFi owner, I am keen to be able to occasionally use my iPhone to provide short term, ad hoc connectivity for my iPad but I don't want to jailbreak my phone to install MyWi. Partly this is because I am using my iPhone for development purposes and partly because I like it fine the way it is.
So, since I am a developer and have paid my $99 developer's licence, I am interested in creating my own (very basic) version of MyWi if possible. I have already come across iProxy source code which provides the proxy functionality but I can't find any guidance or sample source code about what is involved in creating a WiFi hotspot. I expect I will need to do stuff like initialise the chipset and then wait for a

Please help me identify Wifi Problem on iPhone 3G
About a 1.5 years ago the Wifi on my iPhone 3G 8GB died. The toggle on Settings allows me to switch Wifi on but it searches and finds nothing, not even if I put the phone right next to the access point. Sometimes, but very very very VERY rarely it will find Wireless connections, even ones that are far away but it will disconnect after a few (maybe 30?) seconds. But this is very rare.
I had tried the following to fix:
Upgrade & Downgrade
Push Fix (From Cydia)
Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and everything else, even Youtube all work fine. On a side note, when the phone is put against the face the screen does not turn off as its supposed to do.
In Settings, General, About the Wifi Mac address and everything else shows up as fine.
I tried using iRecovery -S while phone is in Recovery Mode and the typed "radio readnvram" but that gave no output. But havin

Tethering on a iPhone 3GS? How do you connect your Mac to wifi via your iPhone 3GS?
Hy, I remember that when I wanted to buy my iPhone 3GS 2 years ago, on the Apple website, there was a page where it explained how you could use your iPhone 3GS to let your Macbook (pro) connect to the internet.
Now, I can't find any information of it anymore.
Does anyone know how you can do that?
